Educate Me

I want to hear about education.

I'm not sure if you realize it, but I learn from you guys all the time. I mean, I had no idea that turtles could come out of their shells after eating too much. I guess that would be like unzipping your pants after eating an entire pizza. I also didn't know that boy turtles hurt girl turtles when they want to "get friendly." Amazing.

So I see you want to learn about education...well for one I feel you are doing a fine job. I feel this way because you bring outside sources like technology into the class room. Us kids, we like that because it gives us a chance to explore new things, become familiar with the technology that we have, and use YouTube and Blogging as more than just for fun.
I do feel that some teachers base their classes on homework and written tests. I don't feel this is fair to those who cannot take tests well. They suffer because they freeze on tests... not so fair... I think tests should be oral because you have to do that in college so why not prepare now.
Those are just a few of the views I have on education.

Education ehh? well, for one you're doing a great job. Secondly, I'd like to add that this class introduces a brand new type of learning stlye. Instead of the old-fashioned "do your homework, take the test, NO TALKING!!", you are the opposite and is what makes you one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. Way to go! =]

It's awesome that we're always learning from others, but I find it strange how I learn the most from those that are younger than I am. While I value the opinions and the experiences of my elders, there's just something about the way children view life that just amazes me. I don't mean to sound like Holden here, but I suppose their innocence has a lot to do with that. Children aren't afraid of the world because they haven't been exposed to it. They're non-judgmental (for the most part, anyway haha) and they just tell things like it is. They're not trying to hide behind any masks or secrets. They view life for what it truly is. I believe that if we take the time to talk to a child (or someone who is younger than us) than we can learn a lot about the world we live in that we may have never known before.

Personally, I enjoyed the speaches. They were comical, and they were also educational. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard than the day Stephen talked about crossdressers. I would like to do this unit again.

learning this way is a much better way than sitting around being bored because it always keeps our attention, and gives us a chance to be apart of the learning

Well, education is interseting because only a few teachers are good at doing it. Like yourself =) See school wouldn't be so bad if the teachers weren't so lame. There isn't a double standard and I understand they should have authority over us but some abuse the word authority. Education in New York State is just so whack too. Regents? Some students just aren't good test takers, like myself and if a Regent test is going to determine you're performance and how smart you are then thats just not fair. All in all education is needed so I guess we just have to deal.

Education, it is changing by the day. I love how the way that we learn is becoming more friendly to our generation. Maybe back in the day sitting in class and listeing to a teacher talk for fourty mintutes was ok, but it isn't anymore. You deffinately know how to get us involved and teach us in ways that we like to be taught.

Adam Pav. totally educated me on the turtle. I had no idea turtles "got around"(frisky little things aren't they) or that they could ever get out of their shells. This whole killer turtle thing is news to me. I didn't know turtles killed people i thought they were just cute little turtles that bite sometimes and were lazy animals, but i guess I'm naive. I'll defiantly give turtles the respect they deserve.

I think that education is very important. But what i think is more important is the kind of teacher a person has. We all have that favoriate teacher that we know and love. And then we have that other teacher who we would rather see get fierd then teach. Now i think the type of teacher you have is very important to education i tend to learn more and do more in class if i have a teacher who i like, rather then a teacher who i completely hate!
