Smartboards

I was at a meeting last night and a suggestion was made that all classrooms at U-E should have a Smartboard. I wonder if this would be a good thing. I wonder if all teachers would use the boards. I wonder if the boards are necessary. Would it make our schools like the Jetsons? Hmmm.

It's funny that you mention the Jetson's because whenever I think of how our culture is lunging (sp?) towards the future they always come to my mind first. Therefore I think it would make us more like them. Just the other day my little 7 year old cousin said she used a smartboard in her first grade class...Holy Advanced-ness.

Well I think all classrooms should have a smartboard but I know a few teachers, (who are stuck so far in the past) that would REFUSE to use it.

i think that classrooms should have them, but sometimes it can become a challenge to use. As we witnessed in 8th period they are harder to use than they look. You can only use one marker at a time, and if the eraser is off then it erases everything. It's confusing but i feel that it could be much more helpful.

I dont think every classroom should have a smartboard. most teachers wouldnt be doing the right material do even use it or woulndt want to learn how. they can be difficult to use sometimes and they are (im guessing) a lot of money. the only class that the smartboard is very useful in is phyics, the teacher uses it to write out all teh problems from the HW on it and it is pretty useful
