I Miss My Dog

I have been dogless for nearly 3 years now. We used to have an English bulldog; his name was Oscar. This isn't Oscar, but it looks just like him. Toward the end of his life he was like an old car that just kept breaking down. He got sores on his skin; he had trouble with his hip; he couldn't walk. It was rough. I am excited about getting our new dog this spring--a newfie.

Yeah that stinks. I have a beagle and he's getting too old. His name is Barney and turning 13 this Saint Patrick's Day. =]

Yeah that makes me really sad to read, because it makes me think of my dog His names Maverick... turning 14 in august... probably my best friend in the world, but hes getting old. Im pretty sure he is going deaf because he doesnt respond to sounds anymore.. just movements, and hes having some hip problems. I hope we dont have to put him down any time soon :( that would ruin my year.

I'm excited for you to be getting a new dog though... I remember how excited i was when i got mav.

In September, actually the day of freshman orientation my dog died. She was old and had a million and one problems. She was a greyhound and her name was Carly. It was really sad because I was the one that found her not breathing. We got her cremated so she's with us still.
